Street Preachers Must Know The Bible

A street preacher in Accra, Ghana, said Christians and Muslims worship the same God and that we don’t have unity because Christians have one part of truth and Muslims too have the other part. He continued that if we come together, there will be unity and holistic worship.

It is important that street Preachers don’t become social commentators but rather preachers of the word of God. We are commanded to preach the word and not our own uninformed views.

A street preacher is supposed to be a messenger of God. He or she must speak as a mouthpiece of God. He heralds the Good News of salvation. He preaches in season and out of season.

To speak what is not consistent with the Bible tells everyone that you don’t know what you are preaching. There are times you pass by a street preacher and you feel like going to correct them.

Alas, it is not only about street Preachers. The gospel must be preached by all believers as people who know our message and not passive commentators. If we claim to speak for God, we must know what God has said in His word concerning every issue of life.

I have to learn from this. You have to learn from this. We all have to study our Bible and preach it well.
