17 People Who Will Not Go To Heaven

2–3 minutes

The Bible is very clear on who will go to heaven and who will go to hell. We are taught in the gospel of John that anyone who believes in the Son of God and walks in the light has eternal life in Christ Jesus. On the other hand, anyone who rejects the Son of God and lives unrighteously will spend eternity in hell with Satan and his unholy angels.

Going to heaven or hell is also importantly a matter of how people live their lives here on earth. If someone says he is a believer who has eternal life, what proves that is their daily walk with Christ. If you say you a Christian and live contrary to the ways of Christ, you live in darkness and the truth is not in you.

If someone says he is a believer who has eternal life, what proves that is their daily walk with Christ.

In Galatians 5, Paul teaches that the truly born again person walks by the Spirit and does not fulfill the desires of the flesh. This person is heaven bound. The person who walks in the flesh or lives like the Gentiles or walks according to the world will manifest a lifestyle in tandem with his Adamic nature.

Galatians 5:19‭-‬21 (NKJV) says,

“Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.”

Paul clearly teaches that people who walk in the flesh manifest the above lifestyle that are not consistent with the way Jesus Christ lived and taught. Thus, such people who exhibit these character traits consistently and see nothing wrong with it will “not inherit the kingdom of God.” Light cannot dwell with darkness.

The following are 17 traits of people who will not go to heaven. This is not to say that a Christian cannot exhibit any of these. Paul is saying that it is the nature of those trapped in sin to exhibit the following:

  1. Adultery
  2. Fornication
  3. Uncleanness
  4. Lewdness
  5. Idolatry
  6. Sorcery
  7. Hatred
  8. Contentions
  9. Jealousies
  10. Outbursts of wrath
  11. Selfish ambitions
  12. Dissensions
  13. Heresies
  14. Envy
  15. Murders
  16. Drunkenness
  17. Revelries

I tell you the truth, none of us, even Christians, can ever live these traits in their fullness on earth. None can be perfect like Christ who was tempted in many ways but yet never sinned.

The reason why Christians can live contrary to the works of the flesh is because the Holy Spirit in us bears different fruit in us. As we abide in Christ, we bear more fruit. The fruit of the Spirit manifests in our lives against the works of the flesh. Therefore, Paul said that those who walk in the Spirit will not fulfill the desires of the flesh.
