Genesis 41
God has a way of doing His things that doesn’t make sense to the human mind. How can a slave prisoner become a Prime Minister of the most powerful nation on earth then? Joseph’s rise to power was to preserve the Jews to fulfill God’s promises to Abraham, their forefather (Genesis 15).
What can we take from this?
#1. There are many people carrying problems in their lives. (Genesis 41:1-8)
The first lesson we can learn from this chapter is that people are carrying problems in their lives around. Pharaoh had dreamt and could not find interpretation to his dreams. He had a problem but lacked a solution to resolve them. There are always people walking about with problems they need help to solve. People have physical, psychological, and spiritual problems seeking solutions. The magicians and astrologers could not help.
#2. God can give us solutions to people’s problems. (Genesis 41:9-32)
Joseph was remembered by the officer of Pharaoh and was invited to interpret the dreams of Pharaoh. Each one of us is called to provide unique solutions through the power of God. Joseph downloaded the solution from heaven and not the earth. There is wisdom from above and wisdom from the earth and also demonic wisdom. Believers rely on the wisdom of Almighty God. We must be solution bearers and not problem carriers.
#3. The secret to greatness and influence is to serve other people. (Genesis 41:33-57)
The last important lesson is that Joseph did not only provide interpretation but also gave a multi-years and ensuring solution to Pharaoh about the international and national crisis looming. God’s solution can cure trans-generational problems because He is the Alpha and the Omega. He knows the end from the beginning. His solution immediately turned his life from a mere prisoner to become Prime Minister for God’s purposes for the world. If you want to be great, unleash the power of divine wisdom to serve other people.
There is nothing impossible for God when it comes to His children. He moved history in favour of Joseph and the Jews. God made him great to fulfill His agenda ro preserve His chosen people.
Take Action: Have a godly perspective to what may be happening in the world.
