Exodus 27
There were three things God wanted them to make in addition to what He had told them. They were to make the altar of burnt offering, the court of the tabernacle, and caring for the lampstand. God gave specific orders on how to execute them.
What can we learn from Exodus 27?
#1. The making of the altar of burnt offering. (Exodus 27:1-8)
God gave them specific patterns to follow in constructing the altar of burnt offering. He was clear about what He wanted them to achieve for Him. This is what will be used in the tabernacle for proper sacrifice to the King of glory. Whatever God wants to do, He has a pattern in His mind. We must seek to know and follow what He wants us to do to fulfill His plans.
#2. The making of the court of the tabernacle. (Exodus 27:9-19)
In the making of the court of the tabernacle that will house whatever goes on in the tabernacle, God gave them specific instructions on what they must do. He was not ambiguous. This court will accommodate the tabernacle and other articles to be made and used in the proper worship of God. God wants us to do what is right before Him. When we follow His pattern, we can achieve true worship in spirit and in truth.
#3. How to care for the lampstand. (Exodus 27:20-21)
The final instructions God gave were to do with how Aaron and his sons were to be in charge of caring for the lampstand. It was assigned to specific people to handle. God gives specific instructions for specific people to do. No one can assume responsibility for what God has not told them to do. It will be out of order. We must follow His orders.
God wants things to be done according to His directives and not ours.
Take Note: Take directives from the Lord and carry it out.
