Much More Than This: Ashimolowo at Greater Works 2024 (Day 2 Evening Session)

Introduction

In his first evening session sermon at the Greater Works 2024 Conference hosted by the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) at Christ Temple East in Teshie, Accra, Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, the founder and senior pastor of Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) in the United Kingdom, shared a profound and timely message for the children of God.

Pastor Ashimolowo’s sermon, titled “Much More Than This,” resonated deeply with the attendees, offering a powerful message of hope, faith, and divine abundance.

The Essence of “Much More Than This”

Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo’s sermon drew from 2 Chronicles 25:5-9, where King Amaziah of Judah was advised by a man of God to trust in the Lord rather than relying on hired soldiers from Israel.

The central theme of the sermon was encapsulated in the phrase “Much More Than This,” emphasizing that God’s blessings and provisions far exceed human expectations and limitations.

A Call to Recognize Divine Leadership

Pastor Ashimolowo began by acknowledging the importance of quality leadership, particularly in Africa. He praised the host of the conference, Dr. Mensa Otabil, and his wife, Lady Joy, for their exemplary leadership. “We must never take leadership for granted.

We must appreciate those who are leaders over us,” he urged, highlighting the contrast between Africa’s abundant resources and the prevalent poverty due to a lack of effective leadership.

Biblical Foundation and Prophetic Declaration

Delving into the scripture, Pastor Ashimolowo narrated the story of Amaziah, who, despite his preparations for battle, was instructed to trust in God alone. The man of God assured Amaziah, “The Lord is able to give you much more than this.”

This message served as a prophetic declaration for the congregation. “Much more than you have seen is coming. Much more favor is coming. Much more testimony is coming,” Pastor Ashimolowo proclaimed, encouraging the audience to believe in the limitless possibilities that God has in store.

Personal Testimonies and Encouragement

Pastor Ashimolowo shared personal anecdotes and testimonies to illustrate the power of faith and divine intervention. He recounted his early ministry experiences in Ghana, where a gathering of 1,000 people was considered a miracle.

Comparing those days to the present, he declared, “What we see today in 2024 is a miracle, but I came to also announce to you, you haven’t seen anything yet. Greater days are coming. Greater works are coming.”

The Power of Faith and Expectation

Throughout his sermon, Pastor Ashimolowo emphasized the importance of faith and expectation. He encouraged the congregation to declare, “Much more than this,” as a way of affirming their belief in God’s abundant blessings.

“Any blessing you have seen, God will do much more than that. Any favor you have received so far, God will do much more than that,” he assured them, urging them to step out of limitations and into new seasons of favor and glory.

Illustrative Biblical Stories

To further reinforce his message, Pastor Ashimolowo recounted the story of Ruth, who went from being a widow with no income to becoming the great-grandmother of King David. He highlighted how Ruth’s faith and loyalty led her to unimaginable blessings.

“What God has for you in your future is bigger than your mind. It’s bigger than your education,” he proclaimed, urging the congregation to trust in God’s plan for their lives.

A Message of Abundance and Overflow

Pastor Ashimolowo’s sermon was a powerful reminder of God’s promise of abundance and overflow. He declared that the congregation would experience breakthroughs, favor, and blessings beyond their wildest dreams.

“God is taking you places. You will enter new levels. You will go places,” he prophesied, encouraging the audience to believe that their current struggles and limitations would be surpassed by God’s divine provision.

Conclusion

The Greater Works Conference 2024, with its theme “Much More Than This,” served as a profound reminder of God’s limitless power and the abundant blessings that await those who trust in Him. Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo’s sermon was a call to faith, expectation, and recognition of divine leadership.

As the congregation left the conference, they were filled with hope and anticipation for the greater works that God would perform in their lives. “Much more than this is coming to your house,” Pastor Ashimolowo declared, leaving the audience with a powerful message of faith and divine abundance.
