The Transformative Impact of the Greater Works Conference on Bishop Amazou, Pastors, and Churches in Abidjan

3–4 minutes

Introduction

The Greater Works Conference, organized annually by the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) in Accra, Ghana, has left an indelible mark on the lives of many church leaders and congregations across Africa.

Among these is Bishop Alexandre Amazou, President of the International Seed of Life Ministry and the World Bible Missionary Alliance Churches, who has witnessed firsthand the profound influence of this conference on pastors and churches in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.

During the third morning session of the 2024 Greater Works Conference at ICGC Christ Temple East, Accra, Bishop Alexandre Amazou shared a compelling testimony of how this conference has transformed his ministry and many others in the Francophonie region.

The Power of Greater Works

Bishop Amazou began his exhortation by highlighting the long-standing relationship he has had with the Greater Works Conference. “For 18 years now, we’ve been coming to Greater Works. You will not believe how this platform has changed the Francophonie. We’ve had awesome testimonies. There are pastors who came all the way from their countries who built temples, who have done exploits. And since I met Dr. Otabil, my life has completely changed.”

Transformational Testimonies

One of the most significant impacts of the Greater Works Conference on Bishop Amazou’s ministry was the construction of one of the largest temples in Côte d’Ivoire.

“Seven years ago, we built one of the biggest temples in Côte d’Ivoire. And by the grace of God, we’re about to build one of the greatest centres of evangelical congresses. And by the grace of God, we’re about to build one of the greatest buildings in the Francophonie as well,” he shared.

Bishop Amazou emphasized that the Greater Works Conference is much more than an event. “Greater Works is no longer a conference. It is a spiritual window being opened by God every year to impact the church. That is why I bless God for Daddy and Mommy. Bless God for Bishop Bismark as well and his wife. And thank God for all these great men of God who have been faithful and who have been by Papa.”

The Power of the Model

In his exhortation, Bishop Amazou delved into the concept of models in ministry. He quoted Hebrews 2:2, stressing the importance of looking unto Jesus as the author and finisher of our faith.

“The God that we serve is a God of models. Understanding the model is what determines success in the church,” he explained. He further elucidated that models serve as references, inspirations, and systems with peculiar features that we should imitate or reproduce.

“Greater Works has become to us a model, a model which is impacting Africa. I can assure you that there have been testimonies, and those testimonies will amaze you. Greater Works is not the speakers that make Greater Works, but Greater Works makes the speakers. If next year there is not even a picture on the flyer, you will still see people coming to this conference because Greater Works has become a spiritual window,” Bishop Amazou asserted.

Conclusion

The testimony of Bishop Alexandre Amazou underscores the transformative impact of the Greater Works Conference on pastors and churches in Abidjan and beyond.

The conference has provided a model of excellence and spiritual growth that continues to inspire and empower church leaders to achieve remarkable feats in their ministries. As Bishop Amazou aptly put it, “The God we serve is a God of models.”

The lessons learned and the experiences gained from Greater Works are a testament to the enduring power of divine inspiration and the importance of following the exemplary models set before us.

The Greater Works Conference continues to be a beacon of hope and a catalyst for spiritual and ministerial growth, impacting lives and ministries across the Francophonie and the entire African continent.
