A recent study by Pulse Ghana (on their WhatsApp Channel) has revealed that TikTok and Facebook are more frequently accessed than Bible apps among users.
Conducted in August 2024, the poll attracted thousands of responses, with a striking majority admitting to opening TikTok as their first app of the day.

The poll, which did not specify the religious affiliations of the participants, asked a simple question: “Which app did you open first this morning?” TikTok led the list with 4,300 users, followed closely by Facebook with 3,900. The Bible app was chosen by 3,000 people, indicating a significant gap in preference.
Other apps like Snapchat, Instagram, X, and LinkedIn were also mentioned, ranking in descending order of morning use.
This study highlights a concerning trend in a world where technological distractions are ever-present. For believers, the findings underscore the importance of consciously prioritising spiritual growth by engaging with Bible apps or other faith-based resources.

As technology continues to compete for our attention, it’s vital to consider what we prioritise first thing in the morning. So, what app do you reach for when you start your day?
