How Bishop Oyedepo’s Teachings Shaped Pastor Nathaniel Bassey’s Ministry Journey

During Day 2 of Bishop David Oyedepo’s 70th birthday celebration, Pastor Nathaniel Bassey shared a moving testimony on the profound impact of Bishop Oyedepo’s life and ministry.

Ministering at the ‘Praise Night’ on 24th September 2024 at Canaan Land, Nigeria, Pastor Bassey recalled how a pivotal moment in his life was shaped by Bishop Oyedepo’s teachings.

“About 20 years ago, the Lord spoke to my heart to let go of mainstream commitment,” Pastor Bassey began. He recounted how God had instructed him not to merchandise his gift.

Struggling with uncertainty, he sought confirmation. “I said, Lord, how would I survive?” he shared. He found his first confirmation in the writings of Papa Hagin, but he desired one more.

The second confirmation came unexpectedly while he was en route to a service at the Redemption Camp.

In a friend’s car, he heard Bishop Oyedepo’s voice declaring a message from Isaiah 45:13: “I have raised him in righteousness. I will direct all his ways. He shall build my city and let go all my captives, not for prize, nor reward.”

That message became a turning point. “Since then, I live by faith, and today, I am a sign and wonder,” Pastor Bassey concluded, honoring both Bishop Oyedepo and his wife for their unwavering influence.
