“Everything about Africa shows that God has visited us” – Pastor Mensa Otabil at Charisma Conference (Fountain Gate Chapel)

2–3 minutes

The Day 4 Evening Session of the Charisma Conference, hosted by Pastor Eastwood Anaba at Desert Pastures, Bolgatanga, featured an insightful sermon by Pastor Mensa Otabil, General Overseer of International Central Gospel Church (ICGC). The conference, organized by Fountain Gate Chapel International, continued to inspire and transform lives with its impactful teachings.

Pastor Otabil began his sermon by expressing his admiration for Pastor Eastwood Anaba and his wife, Pastor Rosemond Anaba. He praised them as “some of the most quality people you will ever find anywhere in the world. Great people, great human beings.” He highlighted Pastor Anaba’s recent accomplishments, particularly the construction of various facilities, including one in his home village.

The main focus of Pastor Otabil’s message was on the theme “A Way in the Desert,” based on Isaiah 40. He emphasised the importance of the prophetic books in the Old Testament, stating that “It is on the prophetic books of the Old Testament that Christ is revealed and the New Testament is established.”

Pastor Otabil delved into the historical context of Isaiah’s prophecy, explaining how it related to Israel’s captivity and eventual deliverance. He drew parallels between Israel’s situation and the current state of Africa, challenging the audience to prepare the way for God’s intervention in their lives and nations.

A key point in his sermon was the need for personal responsibility and hard work in achieving God’s promises. Pastor Otabil stated, “I believe in labour. I believe in the sweat of the face. I believe in toiling. There are people who believe in sweatless success. I don’t know where to find that in the Bible.” He emphasised that faith and works must go hand in hand, rejecting the notion of “sweatless victory” as unbiblical.

Addressing the challenges facing Africa, Pastor Otabil called for mental and cultural transformation. He said, “Everything about Africa shows that God has visited us… but somehow in the midst of it, there are mountains in the way, there are valleys in the way, there are crooked paths.” He urged the audience to pray for Africa’s nations, declaring life and transformation over the continent.

Pastor Otabil concluded his message with a powerful prayer for Africa, mentioning each nation by name and declaring, “We descend a declaration to our continent from the north the south and the east that in our days in the days of our children there will be transformation there will be comfort on our land.”

The Charisma Conference continues to be a significant event in the region, drawing believers from various backgrounds to experience spiritual growth and empowerment.

Pastor Eastwood Anaba’s vision for the conference aligns with the transformative message delivered by Pastor Mensa Otabil, inspiring attendees to become agents of change in their communities and nations.
