In a powerful sermon delivered at ICGC Exalted Temple’s ‘Destiny Awakening Conference‘, Rev. Albert Ocran shared a profound message on being called and anointed by God. He emphasised that this message is for everyone, regardless of their role or position in life.
Rev. Ocran began by stating, “God is calling us to deeper fellowship and deeper service to him.” He stressed the importance of recognising that God’s call is personal, urging the congregation to declare, “Tell somebody it is for me. Tell them I’m called and anointed by God.”
The sermon focused on four key aspects of God’s calling:
- God is the one who calls
- God calls us by name
- There are different callings
- We should do everything as unto God
Rev. Ocran emphasised that God’s call is not limited to traditional ministry roles. He stated, “God has called you, and called you by name. There is no doubt in my mind that God has called you.” This call extends to all areas of life, including professional and personal pursuits.
Addressing the diverse nature of callings, Rev. Ocran challenged the congregation to embrace their unique purpose: “Never say, I wish I was doing what this other person is doing, like I’ll be happy. What God gave you, God did not make mistakes. Do it very, very well.”

The sermon then shifted to the concept of anointing, which Rev. Ocran described as “a supernatural ability to do something you ordinarily couldn’t have done.” He emphasised that this anointing is not limited to religious activities but extends to all areas of life.
Rev. Ocran shared, “God anoints the pastor. God anoints the pilot. God anoints the engineer. And God anoints the banker.” This perspective challenges the traditional divide between sacred and secular work, encouraging believers to see their professional lives as a calling from God.
The anointing, according to Rev. Ocran, manifests in three primary ways:
- Wisdom
- Understanding
- Knowledge
He explained, “Wisdom manifests in designing artistic, innovative ideas that people see and they’re like wow.” This divine empowerment enables believers to excel in their respective fields and make a significant impact.
Rev. Ocran also highlighted the importance of recognizing and appreciating the help God sends. He stated, “The person God sends to help you may not even look like you. They may not be as qualified as you. They may not have gone to the same school as you. But that is exactly the help you need.”
In conclusion, Rev. Ocran encouraged the congregation to embrace their calling and anointing, declaring, “God has called me, called me by name, filled me with his spirit, and anointed me with wisdom, understanding, knowledge, and all manner of workmanship.”
This powerful message serves as a reminder that every believer has a unique purpose and is empowered by God to fulfil it. By recognising and embracing this divine calling and anointing, individuals can make a significant impact in their spheres of influence, whether in ministry, business, or any other field.
