Renowned theologian and leader of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), Pastor Mensa Otabil, has emphasized the importance of surrendering one’s will to God as a crucial aspect of living a life that pleases Him.
Speaking during the second part of his teaching series titled Living for God – A Living Sacrifice, Pastor Otabil highlighted that living for God requires daily submission, sacrifice, and service in every aspect of life.
Otabil noted that living for God is not reserved for secluded moments of fasting and prayer but is meant to be practiced in everyday situations such as work, school, home, and relationships.
“Living for God happens daily in our lives as we go to work, as we go to school, at home, in our marriages, in our relationship with our friends, in our offices, driving in the public transport,” he explained.

He explained that surrendering one’s will is a fundamental step in living a God-centered life, stating, “The number one battle we face is between our will and God’s will.”
Drawing from Jesus’ example in the wilderness and the Garden of Gethsemane, he encouraged Christians to adopt the attitude of saying, “Not my will, but Your will be done.”
Otabil further clarified that God does not override human will but desires that individuals voluntarily choose to submit to Him. “He wants us to choose to love Him…to follow Him. It’s our choice,” he added.
Through his message, Pastor Otabil challenged Christians to live intentionally for God, not just in isolated spiritual activities, but in every aspect of their daily lives, by surrendering, sacrificing, and serving according to God’s will.
