During a sermon at Winners Chapel marking Bishop David Oyedepo’s 70th birthday celebration, Pastor E. A. Adeboye shared a gripping testimony of how God supernaturally saved Bishop Oyedepo from a potential snake attack. This dramatic revelation, which occurred during a reflective sermon on God’s faithfulness, highlighted the power of divine protection in the life of the esteemed Bishop.
Pastor Adeboye, reflecting on Psalm 103:1-5, emphasised how God’s benefits include protection from destruction, recounting an incident that illustrated this truth in Oyedepo’s life. He revealed that one day, after Bishop Oyedepo had locked his office and returned the next morning, he discovered a dead snake inside his desk drawer. The office had remained locked overnight, and no one had entered.

In Pastor Adeboye’s words, “Nobody had entered, but the doors were locked. And he sat down at his desk and opened the drawer. Inside the drawer was a dead snake. How did the snake get into the office? How did the snake get into a drawer that was locked? I don’t know. But one thing I know is this: his life proves that there is power mighty in the blood.”
The story left the congregation in awe, as Pastor Adeboye emphasised that the blood of Jesus, which Bishop Oyedepo has access to as a born-again believer, was instrumental in his supernatural protection. “It is that blood that has given him victories up to today,” Adeboye added, affirming that the same divine power available to Oyedepo is accessible to all who are washed in the blood of Christ.

The miraculous testimony was just one of the many Pastor Adeboye shared during the service, celebrating Bishop Oyedepo’s life, ministry, and God’s unwavering faithfulness. He further encouraged believers to trust in God’s protection and power, reminding them that as long as they have breath, there is hope, and they can expect divine intervention in their own lives.
The congregation was uplifted, shouting praises to God for His protection over the life of Bishop Oyedepo, and the message underscored the importance of faith, thanksgiving, and the victory available through Christ’s blood.
