A Nigerian businessman has credited the power of prayer and his unwavering faith in God for a breakthrough in his multi-billion-dollar power plant project, which had been delayed for months.

Dr. Deji Adeleke, a well-known entrepreneur and philanthropist, shared his testimony of how the Lord answered his prayer during a recent gathering of believers.

Adeleke, who generates 15% of Nigeria’s electricity through his power plants, recounted how his latest project had stalled due to regulatory delays in the issuance of a critical permit.

“For months, we were waiting for the approval to come through, and there was no response. We prayed and prayed, but nothing was happening,” he said.

The situation became increasingly frustrating as the delay threatened to affect the completion of the new plant, which Adeleke described as crucial for Nigeria’s energy sector.

“It was a very difficult time for me as a businessman. But I knew that I had to take this burden to the Lord, especially on the Sabbath,” he said.

Adeleke, who is a firm believer in the power of keeping the Sabbath, drew strength from the Bible verse Isaiah 58:13-14, which he said has always guided his life and business decisions.

“The Bible says if you honor the Sabbath, God will cause you to ride on the high hills of the earth. I have always believed in that promise,” he shared.

The breakthrough finally came when, after several months of persistent prayer, the long-awaited permit was approved. “I remember praying on the Sabbath and telling God, ‘Lord, I’ve done all I can, now I leave it in your hands,’” Adeleke recalled. “And just like that, within a week, we received the approval. It was nothing short of a miracle.”

Adeleke did not hesitate to give all the glory to God, saying, “This was the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous in my eyes. I want to encourage every believer to remain steadfast in prayer and trust in God, even when the answers seem delayed. His timing is perfect.”

The businessman also shared that the new power plant, scheduled to be completed by January, will further boost Nigeria’s electricity supply. “By the grace of God, this new plant will be a major contribution to the energy needs of our nation,” he concluded.

Adeleke’s testimony is a powerful reminder of faith, perseverance, and the importance of keeping the Sabbath as a time to draw closer to God and present one’s needs before Him.
