“I am incapable of being defeated” – Pastor Otabil declares

1–2 minutes

During his recent sermon at ICGC Christ Temple East in Accra, Ghana, Pastor Mensa Otabil conveyed powerful convictions about the unshakable value of faith and the transformative power of Scripture.

In the fourth part of his ongoing series, Living for God, titled Working with the Word, he stressed the fundamental role of Scripture as a “mirror” reflecting both Christ and believers’ true identities in Him.

“The written Word of God is a mirror,” he said, explaining that reading the Bible should enable believers to see Christ and to gain a clearer understanding of themselves in Him.

Pastor Otabil pointedly emphasised that it is the “written Word of God”—from Genesis to Revelation—that holds divine authority, distinct from other forms of religious content or inspirational messages.

“These days, people call many things the Word of God… But that is not what the passage is talking about,” he stated, underscoring the exclusivity of the Bible as the ultimate Word of God.

He urged believers to hold fast to the written Word, saying, “Whatever we see in the written Word of God about who we are in Christ is who we are in reality.”

Pastor Otabil passionately declared his assurance in spiritual victory, saying, “I am incapable of being defeated.” He encouraged his congregation to approach the Bible as a tool that reveals their empowerment through Christ, equipping them to overcome any challenge.

“When I read the Bible, I don’t see myself capable of being defeated,” he affirmed, highlighting the strength and resilience that comes from grounding oneself in the Word of God.

Pastor Otabil’s series continues to inspire believers to deepen their faith, with a focus on the importance of approaching Scripture not merely as inspirational reading but as a transformative encounter that shapes their lives in Christ.
