2–3 minutes

Accra, November 13, 2024 — Pastor Mensa Otabil, founder and leader of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), launched the first volume of his much-anticipated book, Doctrines of the Christian Faith, at a Pastor’s meeting held at ICGC Christ Temple East in Teshie, Accra. The event, which drew pastors and lay ministers from across the nation, marked the release of Volume 1, with three additional volumes to follow in the coming years.

Pastor Otabil shared his inspiration for the book, highlighting its goal as a foundational resource for pastors, seminary students, and committed Christians seeking an organized, in-depth understanding of their faith. “This is just Volume 1 of the book,” he said. “We are going to have four volumes, and this first one covers God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit.” Describing the book as more of a theological textbook, he noted its suitability for both scholarly study and personal enrichment, emphasizing that it offers insights into the core doctrines of Christianity.

Volume 1, which comprises 22 chapters, is organized into three main sections: seven chapters on God, nine chapters on Jesus Christ, and six chapters on the Holy Spirit. Pastor Otabil explained that the content addresses profound themes such as the nature and revelation of God, the teachings of Jesus Christ, and the role of the Holy Spirit, making it a valuable resource for understanding the Christian faith from multiple perspectives.

Looking ahead, Pastor Otabil gave a preview of Volume 2, which will cover doctrines related to humanity, sin, and salvation, with plans to release it in conjunction with next year’s conference. He expressed hope that the remaining volumes would continue to build upon the theological framework established in the first book, offering Christians a comprehensive study of their beliefs.

The book, priced at Ghc350, will be available for purchase from tomorrow. Pastor Otabil encouraged pastors to purchase copies for their personal libraries and to consider providing copies for those unable to afford one. “It’s a solid resource, not just for pastors but for anyone eager to deepen their knowledge of God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit,” he said.

In concluding the event, Pastor Otabil reminded attendees of the importance of ongoing study and growth in faith, urging them to use Doctrines of the Christian Faith as a tool for spiritual enrichment and ministry effectiveness.
