Renowned preacher Bishop T. D. Jakes experienced a health scare on Sunday, November 24, 2024, during the closing moments of a sermon at The Potter’s House in Dallas, Texas. The incident occurred as he was leading the congregation in a closing prayer and benediction, leaving churchgoers visibly concerned.
In a statement released by the church, it was described as a “slight health incident,” with assurances that Bishop Jakes is stable and under medical care. “We are grateful for the immediate attention he received and the prayers and support from the community,” the church added.
The health scare unfolded moments after a powerful message in which Bishop Jakes reflected on his love for preaching. “I still love to preach. I ain’t tired of preaching,” he said during the service.
However, just as he concluded his prayer with the words, “Oh Lord, my strength, my redeemer. Let them go in peace,” he appeared to falter, prompting medical professionals and church staff to assist him offstage.
