Bible sales are surging this year, with publishers reporting a 22% increase through October. Christian bookstores and online sellers attribute the rise to a growing hunger for truth and spiritual connection.
“It appears the Bible is making a comeback,” reports Wendy Griffith of CBN News. At Heaven and Earth, a Christian bookstore in Virginia Beach, Bible sales have quadrupled over the past four years. Store manager Marple observes, “People are really hungry for a move of God. They’re looking for something genuine, and they’re finding it in the Bible.”
Social media influencers and tailored Bible programs are also fueling this trend. Tara-Lee Cobble, creator of The Bible Recap, notes, “We’re blown away that people want to read and understand God’s Word, and they’re finding resources helpful.” Similarly, Rachel Myers of She Reads Truth says, “People respond to good design and functionality,” citing a 56% increase in sales of their Bibles.
The war in Israel is another factor driving interest in Scripture. “Israel is the epicenter of God’s Word,” Marple explains. “The news is waking people up.”
The best-selling Bible? The Life Application Study Bible, praised as a vital tool for new believers. “The Word is Jesus,” Griffith concludes, urging readers to embrace the peace that comes from Scripture.
