Introduction
Before diving into the Word, I want to take a moment to talk about the backdrop for 2025—our “Jesus Year.” Allow me to briefly explain the inspiration and meaning behind it.
The Antique Concept of Illustrative Bibles

This year, we aimed for something with an antique feel, inspired by the concept of the illustrative Bible.
When Bibles were first printed, the words were often adorned with intricate calligraphy, floral designs, and detailed artwork. The opening letters or words were decorated, making the Scriptures visually stunning and engaging.
This tradition of illustrative design shaped our approach for the artwork, moving away from the photographic styles we’ve used in previous years.
Instead, we adopted a more illustrative theme to highlight the beauty and depth of Jesus Christ, who is the centerpiece of our focus.
The Centrality of Jesus Christ

At the heart of the artwork is Jesus Christ. The theme verse for 2025 is John 1:1, which introduces Jesus as the Word of God.
This foundational Scripture sets the tone for the year, emphasizing Jesus as both the logos (the eternal Word) and the rhema (the revealed Word).
This year, we will explore these two dimensions of Jesus as the Word:
1. To know Him as the eternal Lord and King.
2. To follow Him and proclaim Him.
This encapsulates our agenda for 2025—to know Christ, follow Him, and declare His message boldly.
The Visual Representation

The backdrop reflects this journey through vivid details:
1. Scriptural Foundation
– On the extreme left and right, you’ll find quotes from the Gospel of John:
– “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.”
– “Of His fullness, we have all received grace upon grace.”
These verses are also central to our yearly declaration.
2. The Life of Jesus Depicted
– The lower section of the artwork graphically portrays key milestones in the life of Jesus, including:
– His baptism.
– His miracle of turning water into wine.
– His encounter with the woman caught in adultery.
– His resurrection.
These illustrations remind us of the ministry and eternal impact of Christ, encapsulating His life from the beginning of His mission to His triumphant resurrection.
Conclusion

This artwork serves as a visual and spiritual guide for 2025, pointing us toward growth in Christ and a deeper engagement with the Word of God. It underscores our mission to know Jesus, follow Him, and proclaim His truth.
May this year be one of abundant grace and transformation as we focus on Him. Amen.
