Pastor Chris Oyakhilome Highlights the Power of Quiet Time

1–2 minutes

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, founder of Christ Embassy, has underscored the significance of quiet time as a transformative spiritual practice for believers. Speaking during a teaching, he elaborated on how dedicating time to solitude with God can lead to a life of success, fulfillment, and alignment with divine purpose.

“You must have a quiet time,” Pastor Chris stressed. “If you don’t have that experience of being alone and quiet before the Lord, you will not accomplish much.” He pointed to the biblical precedent set by great men and women, emphasizing that quiet time is not limited to ministers but essential for everyone seeking an exceptional life.

The pastor offered practical guidance on establishing this sacred routine, addressing modern challenges such as urban living. “It’s not so much a physical thing as it is a mental thing,” he explained. “The idea is to step away from busy activities. Jesus said, ‘Enter into thy closet.’” For those unable to find solitude, he recommended a simple approach: turning off distractions, relaxing, and focusing on the Spirit.

Encouraging believers to come prepared with writing materials during their quiet time, Pastor Chris said, “When you put your writing material close by, that’s faith. God deals with us in the arena of faith.”

He also highlighted the role of speaking in tongues as a spiritual activator. “Speaking in tongues edifies your spirit. Once your spirit is activated, the Holy Spirit will begin His ministry in your life.”

Pastor Chris concluded by emphasizing the unparalleled benefits of quiet time: “Your spirit will become synchronized with God’s will, positioning you in His purpose and timing. That’s the best place to be—living in God’s perfect will.”
