Did you know that Easter is more than chocolate eggs and colorful baskets? Easter is the happiest day ever—because it reminds us that Jesus is alive! He died on the cross to save us, but He didn’t stay dead. He came back to life on the third day! That’s called the resurrection—and it’s the most exciting part of God’s big story.

Let’s look at three amazing reasons why the resurrection of Jesus is so special—and what it means for YOU!

1. The Bible Said It Would Happen

Even before Jesus came to earth, the Bible said He would die and rise again. That’s called a prophecy. A prophecy is like God telling us what’s going to happen—before it does!

In the book of Psalm 16:10, it says,

“You will not let your Holy One rot in the grave.”

That means Jesus wouldn’t stay dead. And guess what? He didn’t! Jesus told His friends, “In three days, I will rise again” (Matthew 16:21). And He kept His promise.

God always keeps His promises!

2. Lots of People Saw Him Alive

After Jesus rose from the dead, He didn’t just go back to heaven right away. He stayed for 40 more days—and lots of people saw Him!

• He talked with His disciples (that’s a fancy word for close friends).
• He ate food with them.
• More than 500 people saw Him alive!

That means it wasn’t just a dream or a story—it really happened! Just like we trust our eyes when we see a rainbow, those people saw Jesus and knew He was real and alive again (1 Corinthians 15:4–6).

Because Jesus came back to life, it means something special for you and me. It means:

• We don’t have to be afraid of death.
• We can be forgiven for our sins.
• We can live forever with God someday!

The Bible says in John 11:25,

“I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in Me will live.”

So when we believe in Jesus and follow Him, we get to be part of God’s forever family!
