Cape Coast, Ghana — The International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) Exalted Temple, Cape Coast, celebrated a momentous occasion. It marked the 25th Anniversary with a Thanksgiving and Dedication Service. The service was held on Friday, April 25, 2025. The event marked a significant milestone in the church’s journey of faith, growth, and impact.
The General Overseer of ICGC, Pastor Mensa Otabil, led the dedication of the newly completed auditorium, commending the congregation’s perseverance. “What a wonderful work that has been done in this place. The best is yet to come,” he declared to an exuberant crowd.
Senior Pastor Rev. Jepson Ahene expressed heartfelt gratitude to God, saying, “Today is a day the Lord has ordained. As we dedicate this temple, may we also dedicate our lives greatly unto Him.”
“The life of the church is not the building; it is Christ at the center.”
— Rev. Dr. Mensa Otabil
The service featured scripture readings, hymns, and prayers of dedication. Ms. Akua Amoaniwa Nyamekye Dankwa led the congregation in reading Psalm 127:1–5, affirming that “unless the Lord builds the house, they labour in vain who build it.”

In a powerful sermon, Pastor Otabil urged the church to remain rooted in Christ. “The life of the church is not just the building; it is Christ at the center,” he emphasized. He further warned against replacing simple faith in Jesus with traditions or practices that sideline Him.
Dignitaries present included the General Secretary, Rev. Morris Appiah; the Regional Overseer for the Central Region, Rev. Samuel Awuku-Gyekye; other Regional Overseers of ICGC; and various church leaders. Following a formal key presentation by Rev. Jefferson Ahene, the General Overseer, Rev. Dr. Mensa Otabil, led a solemn prayer, dedicating the building to the glory of God.
The joyous day concluded with the unveiling of a commemorative plaque and guided tours of the new facility.
“The church’s enemy is not external but internal — false beliefs that shift our focus from Christ.” – Rev. Dr. Mensa Otabil
The celebration was a powerful testament to God’s faithfulness over 25 years. It was also a declaration of greater things to come.
