Apostle Joshua Selman did not mince words as he addressed what he described as one of the greatest crises in the modern Church: destructive pulpit programming.

During a Sunday’s message at Koinonia titled “New Wineskins”, he stated, “The pulpit has, in many cases, become worse than a shrine.”

According to Selman, many pastors, through ignorance or fear, have taught believers into spiritual defeat. “We have fed God’s people poisonous doctrines that keep them loyal to broken systems while failing in life,” he lamented.

He decried sermons born from jealousy, fear, and pride, which have trained Christians to be poor, afraid, and disengaged from national influence. “Some people were better Christians on Saturday night than after Sunday morning service,” he declared.

Calling for an urgent reformation in pulpit content, Selman warned: “The greatest attack on God’s people is not always demonic—it’s bad teaching that reshapes how they view life, God, success, marriage, and purpose.”

The apostle challenged ministers to examine what they preach and how it equips believers to live victoriously in Christ and society.
