I Know a Book – A Poem

I know a book  

That tells the origin of all things,  

That traces where we came from,  

That points to where we’re going,  

That warns of our end without Him,  

That whispers our purpose in His plan—  

It unveils the story of everything.  

I know a book  

That exposes the depth of man’s sin,  

That reveals our fate apart from grace,  

That bridges the gap to God,  

That promises glory in Christ,  

That paints our destiny with Him—  

It lays bare the truth of humanity.  

I know a book  

That deciphers man’s past—  

His creation, his fall,  

His strength and his weakness,  

His rebellion and redemption—  

It holds the keys to understanding.  

I know a book  

That illuminates man’s present—  

Who we are, what we can become,  

Where we stand, where we stumble—  

It guides us through the now.  

I know a book  

That unveils man’s future—  

Where we’re headed, who will follow,  

How to reach eternity’s shore,  

What awaits all creation—  

It is the roadmap to forever.  

That book is the Bible—  

The most precious book on earth.  

It reveals God,  

It exalts Christ,  

It uncovers man,  

It holds all truth.
