When God calls us to serve Him, He also provides the instructions, order, and preparation necessary for that service. Numbers 8 paints a vivid picture of how obedience and consecration are prerequisites for effective ministry. In this chapter, we see Aaron lighting the lamps according to God’s direction, and the Levites being purified and set apart for sacred duties. Just like then, true worship today demands obedience and holiness.
