In a sermon that electrified the opening night of Greater Works 2025, Pastor Mensa Otabil, General Overseer of ICGC, dismantled the myth that only the qualified can do great things for God. Preaching from John 14:12, he declared:
“You will do greater works—not because you are great, but because Jesus said so!”
Otabil emphasized that the promise of greater works was made to disciples who were confused, doubtful, and seemingly unprepared. “Philip didn’t even know Jesus fully,” he said. “Yet Jesus still said, ‘Amen, Amen—you will do greater works.’”
He reminded the audience that God’s promises are not based on human performance but on divine integrity. “Jesus’ double ‘Amen’ is like a divine legal seal. It means this cannot fail,” he explained.
In a moment of prophetic release, Pastor Otabil declared healing, restoration, and divine repairs: “I demand repair in your life—not because I am powerful, but because I believe in His Amen.”
For many, this message was personal. “I’ve always disqualified myself,” one attendee shared, “but tonight I feel called to do greater.”
The crowd erupted in joy and affirmation, not just because they heard a good sermon, but because something in their spirits was ignited.
