News Story:
In a thought-provoking short video shared on his YouTube Channel, award-winning Ghanaian gospel singer Joe Mettle delivers a powerful message titled “Grace for Visibility”—urging believers, creatives, and professionals not to rush into public platforms without divine preparation.
“The wilderness experience many times is important when it comes to the seizing of visibility,” Joe Mettle began. “Most of the time, it’s actually the experiences you have gathered in the wilderness that you would need during your time of visibility.”
According to him, visibility is not merely about being seen—it also means being exposed. “Visibility apart from being seen is also being exposed. You’ll be seen, but you’ll also be exposed,” he explained, warning that rushing into prominence without character and preparation can destroy one’s destiny.
He pointed to the biblical story of David, emphasizing how his years in the wilderness prepared him for greatness. “When I was in the wilderness taking care of my father’s sheep, when a lion came and a bear came, I fought them. That was David’s preparation,” Mettle said. “So when Goliath appeared, David wasn’t afraid. Visibility will always test what you’ve developed in private.”
Joe Mettle further stressed that divine visibility must come from God’s timing. “Please don’t be in a hurry to be visible. Allow God to make you visible,” he urged. “When God makes you visible, men will have no choice but to see you.”
He explained that true visibility is built on skill, preparation, and excellence—qualities often forged in hidden seasons. “How skilful are you at what you want to be visible about?” he asked. “Grace will amplify what you already carry, but grace will not replace preparation.”
Mettle cautioned against over-spiritualizing success without competence. “Prayer can get you there, but prayer will not do the work for you there,” he said bluntly. “If you don’t know how to do the job, why are you praying for the position?”
The gospel singer concluded with a profound charge: “When God calls a man, He calls him first to Himself, not to anyone. Don’t rush to be seen by men—be seen by God first. When the heart is convinced about the mandate, it’s impossible to confuse the mind.”
Joe Mettle’s message serves as a timely reminder that the path to lasting influence begins in the wilderness—where God shapes, grounds, and qualifies His own before unveiling them to the world.
