Miotso, Prampram – October 22, 2025: Central University held a colourful and spirit-filled investiture ceremony at its Miotso campus on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, to induct Professor Samuel Kwasi Dartey-Baah as the new Vice Chancellor. The event, attended by academic leaders, clergy, traditional rulers, and students, marked a new chapter in the university’s growth and faith-driven academic mission.

The Chancellor of the University, Dr. Mensa Otabil, officiated the investiture, charging Professor Dartey-Baah to “lead Central University with faith, integrity, and excellence.” He reminded him that leadership in Christ’s model means servanthood: “Whoever desires to become great among you must be your servant.”

In his inaugural address, Professor Dartey-Baah expressed deep gratitude to God, his family, and the University Council for their confidence in him. “I am deeply honoured to be appointed Vice Chancellor of Central University. The task ahead is demanding, but I am ready to walk it with diligence and humility,” he said.

Outlining his vision, Professor Dartey-Baah pledged to build on the university’s strong foundation through five strategic pillars — financial sustainability, student-centered development, infrastructure partnerships, brand elevation, and staff growth. He announced plans to operationalise the University Hospital, deepen student internships, and strengthen ties with industry and the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) network.

With passion, he added: “We are not just educating minds; we are shaping destinies. We are not just building a university; we are building a future.”

Professor Dartey-Baah also called on the government to recognise private universities as equal partners in national development, urging: “We are not seeking handouts, we are seeking inclusion. Private universities are core builders of Ghana’s future.”

The outgoing Vice Chancellor, Professor Bill Buenar Puplampu, lauded the seamless transition and expressed confidence in his successor’s ability to lead the university into a new era of excellence.

The ceremony featured inspiring hymns, prayers, and choral performances from the Central University Choir and Lumina Voices of ICGC Christ Temple East, reflecting the university’s identity as a faith-based institution.

As the ceremony concluded, Pastor Otabil prayed that God’s grace and wisdom would mark Professor Dartey-Baah’s tenure: “May your time in office be filled with foresight, courage, and righteousness. God bless you and may the Lord be magnified through you.”
