“Heal the Wounded Soldiers” — Apostle Selman Urges PFN to Build Safe Haven for Fallen Ministers

Delivering his closing recommendations at the PFN 40th Anniversary in Lagos, Apostle Joshua Selman passionately appealed for the establishment of structures to restore fallen ministers and protect the integrity of the church.

“There must be a structure where wounded soldiers can find a safe haven,” he said.
“They can be spiritually rehabilitated and brought back into the system. The campaign of celebrating the falling of our soldiers will ultimately destroy everybody.”

Selman proposed four major recommendations to strengthen the church in Nigeria:

  1. Create a safe system for restoration — not destruction — of morally fallen ministers.
  2. Confront extra-biblical practices with love and scriptural dialogue.
  3. Document the foundational doctrines of the Christian faith for generational clarity.
  4. Establish training institutes for untrained pastors currently in ministry.

“Most of the madness and childishness on the altar is not always a demonic attack,” he noted. “It is a reflection of the lack of training — and these things can be corrected.”

Selman urged the PFN and other Christian councils to take the lead in preserving sound doctrine and ministerial health.

“The generation that is coming is in clear confusion right now. The fathers are transiting. It’s time to define what we believe as a church,” he concluded, to a resounding applause.
