At the opening day of The God Summit 2025 on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at ICGC Christ Temple East, Pastor Mensa Otabil issued a powerful and timely call for believers—especially young pastors—to rise as defenders of the Christian faith in a rapidly changing world.
He reminded attendees that Christianity is both spiritual and intellectually robust. “We believe in the power demonstration of the gospel,” he said, “but we also have to develop a systematic, logical approach to the defence of the gospel.” He urged young ministers to prayerfully consider apologetics as a vital part of their calling.
Referencing Europe’s spiritual decline, he noted, “Switzerland, France, Germany—these were real places of revival… and now rarely do you hear anything Christian being spoken of.” He warned that Africa could face similar challenges as education and modern thought increasingly shape the continent. “There is going to be the need for us to defend our faith,” he cautioned.

Pastor Otabil celebrated the emerging voices at the summit, declaring, “Very young and very promising for the church… I know the future is safe in your hands because you are going to be the great defenders of the Christian faith.”
He encouraged participants to ask tough questions during the Q&A session. “Please come with very hard questions. No easy questions,” he said. “The questions we don’t have answers to, we will tell you we don’t have answers to.”
