Pastor Mensa Otabil Closes God Summit 2025 With a Strong Call to Young Christians: “Take Up Apologetics”

At the close of The God Summit 2025 on Friday, 14th November at ICGC Christ Temple East, Pastor Mensa Otabil issued a passionate charge to young Christians across the nation and beyond: embrace apologetics as a vital calling for the future of the Church.

In his final remarks, Pastor Otabil explained that he deliberately stepped back from speaking extensively this year to make room for emerging voices. “This year I didn’t want to speak because I feel it’s time for us to start seeing younger people… those of us with white beards will sit down and let the younger people come in,” he said.

He urged young men and women with zeal for God to take their place in defending the Christian faith intellectually and spiritually. “For all of you who are young men and women who are passionate for God, I pray that you will take up apologetics as a major aspect of your ministry,” he appealed.

Addressing pastors, ministers, and Christian thinkers, he stressed the need for rigorous preparation and intellectual engagement. “I hope you would really develop your ability to defend the Christian faith and reason out the Christian faith,” he said, encouraging participants to speak with the summit’s resource persons and acquire relevant books to continue learning.

Pastor Otabil also reminded the audience that apologetics is not reserved for clergy alone. “You don’t need to be a pastor to be a good apologist. After all, we all defend all kinds of things. We defend football teams; we defend all kinds of people,” he remarked, drawing laughter and reflection.

He emphasized that the stakes are high for the future of Christianity. “Become a master of this craft because the future of Christianity will depend on the assurance we have that the manuscripts in our hands are reliable,” he warned. “If that is eroded, then our faith is gone. Our faith is entirely based on the reliability of the Scriptures.”

The two-day God Summit 2025 ended on this solemn yet empowering note—a call to a new generation to rise with conviction, clarity, and intellectual strength to defend the gospel in an age of questions and skepticism.
