At ICGC Christ Temple East in Teshie-Accra on Sunday, November 16th, 2025, Pastor Mensa Otabil delivered a striking teaching on the messianic assignment of Jesus, declaring that “the Messiah came to preach good news and to repair lives.”

Preaching from Matthew 11:2–5, Pastor Otabil explored John the Baptist’s question to Jesus—“Are You the coming One, or do we look for another?” He explained that Jesus responded with evidence, not titles: “Go and tell John the things which you hear and see.”

Pastor Otabil noted that Jesus intentionally grounded His identity in Scripture:

“The blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed… and the poor have the gospel preached to them.”

He explained that this response is anchored in Isaiah’s messianic prophecies, proving that Jesus was fulfilling everything foretold about the Messiah.

“Jesus came to repair,” he said. “He came to put things together. He came to show that God is fixing us.”

Pastor Otabil stressed that the ministry of Christ goes beyond miracles:

“Condemning people is easy. But the Messiah came to proclaim liberty—not to comment on their captivity but to bring them out.”

He concluded with a faith-filled prayer, declaring that Jesus still repairs bodies, marriages, businesses, and destinies today.
