Pastor Mensa Otabil Urges Deep Reflection Before Entering 2026

In a thought-provoking Christian Conversations podcast interview on 30th December 2025, Pastor Mensa Otabil, General Overseer of ICGC, called on believers to embrace intentional reflection as they transition into a new year.

Speaking with Rev. Albert Ocran, Pastor Otabil explained that while a new year may appear ordinary, it carries deep symbolic significance. “In one sense, a new year is another 24-hour period. But in another sense, it marks the end of a season of activity, experiences, hopes, and disappointments,” he said.

He stressed that reflection allows people to measure growth, confront missed opportunities, and realign priorities. According to him, gratitude alone is not enough. “We should be grateful, but we shouldn’t pause there. Gratitude must lead us into action,” he noted.

Pastor Otabil warned that many people enter new years with excitement but lose momentum almost immediately. “We slow down because we think we have time. Day by day, week by week, the year is gone,” he cautioned.

He encouraged believers to ask difficult but necessary questions, such as what worked, what failed, and why. Without this process, he said, life becomes reactive rather than purposeful.

The interview underscored the importance of posture and planning working together. “Life must be lived purposefully,” Pastor Otabil concluded, urging listeners to enter 2026 with clarity, humility, and commitment.
