Senior Pastor of ICGC Christ Temple East, Mensa Otabil, has urged believers to take immediate and intentional steps toward fulfilling God’s purposes for their lives as the new year unfolds. He shared this exhortation during the New Year Service at ICGC Christ Temple East, Teshie–Accra on Sunday 4th January 2026, reminding the congregation that time waits for no one.
Addressing the church at the start of the year, Pastor Otabil noted how quickly the previous year passed, encouraging worshippers not to delay what God has placed in their hearts. “As happened to us in 2025, the year runs very, very fast. So whatever you want to do, do it now,” he emphasized.
He explained that the beginning of the year provides a strategic opportunity to align one’s plans with God’s will and to act decisively. According to him, procrastination often robs people of the full benefits of divine direction and preparation. “Don’t wait till later, just start working on your plans, working on the purposes that God has for you,” Pastor Otabil admonished.
The respected teacher highlighted that God’s purposes are best fulfilled through prompt obedience and consistent effort. He encouraged believers to move beyond mere intentions and resolutions, stressing that progress is made by taking concrete steps of faith early.
The New Year Service formed part of ICGC Christ Temple East’s emphasis on purposeful living, spiritual growth, and practical application of biblical principles. Pastor Otabil’s message resonated strongly with congregants, many of whom were inspired to approach the year with renewed focus, urgency, and discipline.
