Accra, Ghana – February 26, 2026 — The International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) today celebrates 42 years of ministry, marking over four decades of spiritual leadership, national influence, and global outreach.
Founded on February 26, 1984, ICGC has grown from a small fellowship into one of Ghana’s most influential charismatic churches, shaping generations through sound biblical teaching, leadership development, and social intervention.
A Vision Born in 1984

ICGC was founded by Pastor Mensa Otabil, whose teaching ministry has profoundly shaped the Christian landscape in Ghana and beyond. From its early beginnings, the church emphasized doctrinal depth, intellectual engagement with Scripture, and the practical application of biblical principles to everyday life.
Over the years, Pastor Otabil’s messages on purpose, leadership, integrity, and national development have resonated far beyond the pulpit, influencing professionals, entrepreneurs, public servants, and young leaders across Africa.
Expanding Footprint: Local and Global Branches

What began as a single congregation in Accra has grown into a dynamic network of branches across Ghana, Europe, and North America. The church’s branch, Christ Temple East in Teshie, serves as a central hub for major conferences and strategic gatherings, while numerous district assemblies continue to transform local communities through vibrant worship services, intentional discipleship programs, and structured leadership training.
Through its structured ministry model, ICGC has raised pastors and leaders who serve both within the church and across the broader body of Christ.
Signature Conferences That Shape the Body of Christ

One of ICGC’s most recognized contributions to global Christianity is the annual Greater Works Conference. This flagship gathering attracts thousands from around the world and focuses on equipping believers for excellence in ministry, leadership, and societal impact. The conference has hosted distinguished international speakers and remains a defining moment on Ghana’s Christian calendar.
In addition, the Doulos Conference is designed to train and equip church workers and ministry leaders for effective service. Its emphasis on stewardship, church administration, and servant leadership has strengthened congregations nationwide.
ICGC also hosts the God Summit, an apologetics conference aimed at helping believers thoughtfully defend their faith. The summit addresses contemporary issues confronting Christianity and encourages intellectual engagement with biblical truth.
Social Interventions: Faith in Action

Beyond the pulpit, ICGC has demonstrated its commitment to societal transformation through initiatives such as Central Aid, the church’s humanitarian wing. Central Aid supports vulnerable communities with educational sponsorships, relief efforts, and targeted assistance to the underprivileged.
Another major outreach is Life Walk, an annual fundraising event that raises awareness and financial support for psychiatric and mental health institutions in Ghana. The initiative highlights ICGC’s concern for holistic well-being and its willingness to address often overlooked societal challenges.
Four Decades of Transformational Leadership

As ICGC commemorates 42 years, its legacy stands on a foundation of biblical teaching, leadership empowerment, intellectual engagement, and social responsibility. Under Pastor Mensa Otabil’s leadership, the church has consistently challenged believers to pursue excellence in both spiritual and professional life.
With a global network of branches, influential conferences, and impactful social programs, ICGC’s anniversary is not only a celebration of longevity but a testament to sustained relevance and national transformation.
As the church steps into its 43rd year, its vision remains clear: to establish the house of the Lord through the development of model New Testament believers and churches.
