Here is a clearer, contextualised and stronger intro for Story 9:
During an insightful theological dialogue at International Palace Church, hosted by Rev. Dr. Bernard Mensa Adams, Mensa Otabil responded to growing curiosity from the audience about why sacrifices, altars, and ritual worship practices feature so prominently in the Old Testament. His response placed these practices within the larger biblical storyline, explaining their purpose and ultimate fulfillment.
He explained that many Old Testament actions were preparatory, pointing toward a final redemptive act.
“People sacrificing on an altar… why are they doing it? Because there is one final sacrifice who is going to come.”
That ultimate sacrifice, he said, occurred at the cross.
“He is going to be on an altar called the cross… on a mountain called Mount Calvary.”
Pastor Otabil emphasized that once Christ’s sacrifice was completed, the earlier sacrificial system had fulfilled its purpose.
This teaching reframed biblical history as a purposeful progression rather than disconnected religious acts.
