Pastor Ransford Obeng Calls for New Testament-Based Churches at Doulos Conference 2026 Evening Session

Introduction

During the Day 1 evening session of Doulos Conference 2026 at ICGC Christ Temple East, Teshie-Accra, Pastor Ransford Obeng, Founder of Calvary Charismatic Centre (CCC), delivered a powerful and practical message challenging church leaders to build ministries that truly last. Speaking on the theme “What type of church are we building?”, he urged pastors to return to the original blueprint of the New Testament Church as the foundation for lasting impact.

Building According to the New Testament Pattern

Pastor Obeng emphasised that the foundation of every enduring church must be rooted in Scripture. “A New Testament church is a church which believes and teaches the doctrine of the New Testament,” he stated.

He further explained that beyond belief, practice is critical: “It’s one thing for you to believe something, but it’s another thing to practise it.” He challenged leaders to follow the exact pattern of the early apostles, insisting that anything outside that model compromises authenticity.

The Foundation Has Already Been Laid

Referencing the apostles, he reminded leaders that the work of foundation has already been completed. “No other foundation can anyone lay… which is Jesus Christ,” he declared.

He warned pastors to be careful how they build upon this foundation, stressing that modern ideas and personal preferences must not override biblical patterns.

Core Activities of the Early Church

Highlighting Acts 2:42, he identified four pillars of a New Testament church: doctrine, fellowship, breaking of bread, and prayer. He stressed the importance of both large gatherings and small groups, noting that these activities were done “in the temple and from house to house.”

Build Beyond Yourself

In a strong closing charge, he urged leaders to build systems that function without them. “Build something that will outlive you,” he said, warning that personality-driven churches often collapse after the founder is gone.

Conclusion

Pastor Obeng’s message brought clarity and urgency, reminding leaders that lasting churches are built on biblical patterns, not personal charisma. His teaching set the stage for deeper exploration into sustainable church systems throughout the conference.
