Introduction
At the closing evening session of Doulos Conference 2026 at ICGC Christ Temple East, Teshie-Accra, Dr. Sam Chand delivered a powerful and energising message urging church leaders to maximise their present opportunities and build lasting impact.
Speaking on the theme “Seize the Moment, Go the Distance,” he challenged leaders to overcome fear, embrace courage, and act decisively in their God-given assignments.
Why Many Leaders Miss Their Moment
Dr. Chand identified fear as the primary barrier to progress. “The number one reason people don’t seize the moment… is because of fear,” he stated.
He added that negative environments and past failures also hinder leaders, but emphasised that “failure is never final” and can be overcome with faith and resilience.
Seizing the Moment Requires Awareness and Courage
He urged leaders to recognise God’s activity in their lives. “Be aware of what God is doing at this point in your life,” he advised.
He also stressed courage as essential for ministry: “Ministry is not for weak-kneed people,” he declared, encouraging leaders to act boldly despite challenges.
The Power of Today
A major highlight of his teaching was the importance of present action. “Today matters… whatever you’re doing today is a seed into tomorrow,” he said.
He warned against wasting time, noting that lost time cannot be recovered.
Going the Distance Requires Discipline and Growth
Dr. Chand emphasised decision-making and consistency. “Make a decision… no decision means anything unless your actions follow,” he explained.
He also highlighted gradual growth: “Little by little… until you have increased enough,” reminding leaders that lasting success is built incrementally.

Dr. Chand’s message closed the conference with a strong call to action: leaders must seize their moment, act with courage, and build steadily to fulfil their assignment. His teaching left participants inspired to move forward with confidence and purpose.
