Leadership expert Dr. Sam Chand has urged pastors to become intentional about the voices influencing their decisions and ministry direction. Speaking at the Doulos Conference 2026, he highlighted the growing complexity of leadership in a digital age filled with competing perspectives.
“The voices in your head will guide you the rest of your days,” he told participants, emphasising the need for discernment.
Dr. Chand warned leaders not to be captivated solely by charisma or popularity, stating that character and wisdom must guide whose counsel they follow. He encouraged pastors to surround themselves with encouraging voices that strengthen their calling while resisting discouraging influences.
Using personal stories and biblical illustrations, he demonstrated how leadership identity is shaped over time by mentors, critics, and cultural expectations. According to him, understanding which voices to amplify or silence is key to enduring influence.
Delegates described the session as deeply practical, particularly for younger leaders seeking clarity in an era of information overload. The conference continues with sessions designed to equip pastors for sustainable leadership impact.
