Introduction
Pastor Mensa Otabil brought the Day 5 Morning Session of the Greater Works Conference 2026 to a powerful conclusion with a profound exposition of Daniel 2, Isaiah 2, and Micah 4. Building on his opening-night message, The Stone That Crushed the Image, he focused on “The Stone That Became a Mountain,” revealing God’s eternal plan to establish His Kingdom through the Church.
He explained that throughout history, God has raised and removed earthly kingdoms, but His own Kingdom—the Church of Jesus Christ—will never be destroyed. Calling believers to embrace a bigger vision, Pastor Otabil urged Christians to build Kingdom institutions that will influence nations for generations. As he boldly declared, “The church of the Lord Jesus Christ is not a frivolous, flimsy, weak enterprise.”
God Has Established an Eternal Kingdom
Preaching from Daniel’s interpretation of King Nebuchadnezzar’s dream, Pastor Otabil explained that the successive kingdoms of Babylon, Persia, Greece and Rome were all temporary. However, God promised to establish another Kingdom that would never pass away.
Quoting Daniel 2, he emphasised, “The God of heaven will set up a kingdom.” Unlike earthly governments, this Kingdom will never be destroyed, will never be handed over to outsiders, will overcome every competing kingdom and will stand forever. Pastor Otabil explained that this prophecy finds its fulfilment in the Church established by Jesus Christ.
The Church Must Stand Above Every Other Institution
Using Isaiah and Micah’s prophecy about “the mountain of the Lord’s house,” Pastor Otabil explained that God intends His Church to occupy the highest place of influence in society. The mountain symbolises the Kingdom structure upon which God builds His Church.
He challenged believers never to reduce the Church to a weak organisation dependent on political favour or worldly approval. Instead, he urged Christians to strengthen the Church through excellence, integrity, leadership and long-term vision.
He warned, “Don’t surrender the church to politicians. Don’t surrender the church to technology. Don’t surrender the church to money.”
Kingdom Wealth Must Build Kingdom Institutions
One of the strongest themes of the message was the call for believers to pursue institutional Kingdom wealth rather than merely personal prosperity.
Pastor Otabil taught that the Church must possess the financial, intellectual and organisational capacity to remain God’s visible witness on earth. He encouraged professionals, business leaders, scholars and influential Christians to dedicate their gifts to advancing God’s Kingdom.
He declared, “Don’t cheapen the church. The church is bigger than your level.” Rather than viewing the Church as a personal platform, believers should see themselves as builders of an institution that will outlive every generation.
Every Believer Has a Kingdom Assignment
Drawing inspiration from the story of Esther, Pastor Otabil reminded believers that every gift, resource, qualification and opportunity has been entrusted to them for God’s Kingdom purposes.
Whether through finances, education, leadership, politics or professional excellence, Christians are called to strengthen the Church and defend its influence in society. He challenged believers to become Kingdom financiers and faithful stewards who ensure that God’s work continues to flourish.

Pastor Mensa Otabil concluded with a passionate call for believers to dedicate everything they possess to building God’s eternal Kingdom. While earthly empires continue to rise and fall, God’s Church remains His enduring institution on earth.
Christians must therefore commit their wealth, influence, knowledge and abilities to advancing the Kingdom so that, as Scripture declares, “the mountain of the house of the Lord shall be established above all mountains.”
