The Rains Could Not Stop Greater Works 2024 Day 4 Evening Session

2–3 minutes

Accra, Ghana.

On Thursday, 1st August 2024, the fourth evening session of the 5-day Greater Works Conference organized by the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) at Christ Temple East, Teshie-Accra, faced an unexpected challenge as heavy rains threatened to disrupt the event. However, the resilience and quick response of the organizers ensured that the session continued seamlessly.

The program commenced as scheduled at 5pm at the Arena (main compound) with song ministrations and prayers. As the worship was in full swing, the heavens opened up, resulting in a heavy downpour. Those following the event online could clearly see the water-soaked song leaders and the intensity of the rain.

“It was exciting to see that even when it was raining out, the people were still in the rain, jumping,” remarked an attendee. “The fact that we also trooped in here seamlessly, very, very well-disciplined, just speaks to what Greater Works does for us. I think it’s been a blessing today, and I’m sure it has been a blessing to you as well. I’m excited that tomorrow takes us to another level, and you have to be here, people.”

In response to the rain, the organizers swiftly mobilized volunteers to relocate the session to the main auditorium of the campus. Although there was a brief interruption in the online transmission, it was restored within minutes, and the service continued without further disruptions.

“We will settle here, take the service here, and use the arena as an overflow,” Pastor Mensa Otabil announced. “Because of the time we spent, the program is going to be straightforward. We will abbreviate some parts and focus on the preaching and the ministry of Nathaniel Bassey. So, we are going to have three items tonight: the first speaker, a time of worship with Nathaniel Bassey, and then the second speaker. Although we have lost some time, we hope to make up for it and still close on time.”

Despite the unexpected weather, Pastor Nathaniel Bassey, Bishop Mike Okonkwo, and Bishop Tudor Bismark delivered powerful worship and sermons. Nathaniel Bassey led the congregation in soul-stirring worship, Bishop Okonkwo preached on “The Prophetic Voice of Victory,” and Bishop Bismark shared his insights on “Live Your Life.” Both in-person and online participants were greatly blessed by the service.

“What an awesome God. No matter what the rain has done, listen, nothing works against you. Everything is working for your good. And what God is doing in your life is more powerful than what the devil is doing against you. If you believe that, shout a loud amen,” proclaimed Bishop Okonkwo.

What could have been a setback turned into a testament to the organizers’ preparedness and adaptability. The lesson here is that unforeseen challenges are inevitable, but our response to them determines the outcome. The Greater Works organizers demonstrated readiness and resilience, ensuring the event’s success despite the rain.

The conference continues this morning at 9 am in person at Christ Temple East and online via @mensaotabil and @icgcchristtemple on YouTube and Facebook. Don’t miss the anointing service with Pastor Mensa Otabil and Bishop Tudor Bismark this evening at 5 pm.
