During a Sunday Service at ICGC Christ Temple East, Pastor Mensa Otabil delivered a compelling message on the importance of boldness in all aspects of life, particularly in marriage and making significant life decisions.
The sermon, titled “Take Bold Steps (2),” emphasised that boldness is not about taking reckless risks but making well-thought-out decisions that align with God’s purpose.
“Boldness is not bragging,” Pastor Otabil explained. “It requires taking risks, but educated risks, calculated risks, not jumping into things you haven’t thought through.”
He stressed that boldness involves thinking, planning, and acting, especially when it comes to important life choices like marriage.
Addressing the hesitancy many young people feel about marriage due to financial instability, Pastor Otabil encouraged them to take bold steps and trust in God’s provision. “If God says marry, you can marry. Economy or no economy,” he declared.
He pointed out that marriage itself can lead to greater strength, wisdom, and financial stability, as couples work together and support each other.
Pastor Otabil also criticised the trend of delaying marriage while engaging in premarital relationships, urging young people to honour their relationships with dignity and commitment.
“Be bold, marry, set the date,” he advised, adding that a simple, purposeful union is better than a prolonged, guilt-ridden relationship.
In conclusion, Pastor Otabil called on parents to encourage their children to be bold in their life choices, reminding the congregation that life will never be easy, but with purpose and agreement, bold decisions can lead to long-term success and fulfillment. “Be bold and move out,” he urged, emphasising that the right time to act is now.
