Accra, Ghana: In a compelling message on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at ICGC Christ Temple East, Pastor Mensa Otabil boldly addressed the danger of religious affiliation without a genuine relationship with Jesus Christ. Preaching on the theme “I Am the Door” from John 10:1–9, he emphasized that Christ alone is the legitimate access to salvation and God’s kingdom.
“Jesus is not a church program. He is the Door,” Pastor Otabil said. “If you entered church without going through Christ, you are illegitimate.”
He warned that people may go through baptism, classes, and membership protocols but still lack a saving encounter with Jesus.
“You can have a church certificate and even a funeral plot reserved for you—but if you didn’t come through Christ, you missed the Door.”
His message challenged congregants to re-examine the foundation of their faith.
“Jesus didn’t say your shepherd is the door. He said, I am the Door.”
The sermon forms part of an ongoing series focused on the identity of Christ. Pastor Otabil urged the congregation to ensure they have entered the sheepfold through Christ—not tradition, religion, or human merit.
