ICGC Discovery Temple Pastor Encourages Believers to Trust God’s Timing During Seasons of Delay
Many Christians become discouraged when prayers seem unanswered or progress appears slower than expected. However, Rev. David Rich Paha, Lead Pastor of ICGC Discovery Temple, says seasons of delay are often evidence of God’s preparation rather than His absence.
Speaking on The Real Talk Show hosted by Dr. Evelyn Paha, Rev. Paha encouraged believers to remain faithful during difficult seasons, explaining that God frequently uses slow progress to develop character, capacity, and spiritual maturity before releasing greater assignments.
“I think everybody in their life, one way or the other, will encounter slow growth,” he said. “There are parts in your life where you feel God is not speaking, where you feel nothing is really happening.”
Rather than becoming anxious or discouraged, Rev. Paha said believers should view delays through the lens of God’s sovereign purpose.

“If the process is slowed, I’m not troubled because I believe there is something that God is working within me that I’m not taking notice of, or there’s something He’s drawing my attention to that I’m unaware of.”
According to the pastor, God sometimes intentionally slows a person’s journey because He has not yet completed the necessary work at the current level.
He explained, “Maybe it’s God telling you, ‘Just come back a little because I have not finished addressing issues on this level.’ Or God is simply saying that the timing is not right yet.”
Instead of complaining during such seasons, Rev. Paha said Christians should ask God what lessons He intends to teach them.
“I keep asking Him, ‘What do You want me to learn on this level? What do You want me to learn on this level?'”
The pastor noted that because he keeps his eyes fixed on the vision God has given him, temporary delays never convince him that God has abandoned him.
“So if the process is slowed, I’m not worried because I am with God and because I am still pursuing the picture of where I want to become,” he said.
His remarks serve as a timely reminder that God’s timing is always purposeful. While people often measure progress by speed, God measures readiness by transformation. Seasons of waiting are not wasted when they produce deeper faith, greater wisdom, stronger character, and increased dependence on Him.
For believers navigating delayed answers, career setbacks, ministry challenges, or personal struggles, Rev. Paha’s message offers hope: God has not forgotten you. He may simply be preparing you for something greater than you can presently imagine.
