LOB Team I Sermon Review I http://www.livingourbible.com
Introduction
On the final night of Greater Works 2025, Pastor Mensa Otabil closed the conference with a charged message from John 14:12–14, reminding believers that “he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do.”
His focus was on Jesus’ promise: “Whatever you ask in My name, I will do it.” The night became a rallying call for Christians to move from passive expectation to bold, faith-filled declarations — demanding the works of Christ in their lives today.
Key Highlights of the Sermon

- The Power of Asking in Jesus’ Name
Pastor Otabil explained that the Greek word translated “ask” means to demand or request. “Jesus says if you’re going to do greater works, you have to demand for it… If you ask for it, I will do it,” he declared. This is not arrogance but confidence in Christ’s authority. - Two Types of Asking
Drawing from John 14, 15, and 16, Pastor Otabil contrasted two operations:- John 14 – Asking in Jesus’ name, where He does it. This is a demand based on His finished work.
- John 15 & 16 – Asking the Father in Jesus’ name, where the Father gives it. This is a petition.
He illustrated with Acts 3 (Peter healing the cripple by commanding healing in Jesus’ name) versus Acts 4 (disciples asking the Father for boldness).
- Making Faith Declarations
The message urged believers to speak directly to situations: “We are not asking the Father to heal you; we are demanding it in the name of Jesus. And Jesus says, ‘I will do it.’” From healing bodies to restoring families and reviving businesses, Pastor Otabil declared that Jesus is still working when believers command in His name. - Miracles at This Hour
Throughout the service, he prophetically announced: “At this time, miracles have been released. At this time, battles have been won. At this time, conspiracies have been destroyed.” The emphasis was on recognising the now moment of God’s intervention. - Humility in Boldness
Pastor Otabil warned against confusing humility with denial. “When He says you are the head and you say you’re the tail, that’s pride. True humility is agreeing with God’s Word.” Demanding in His name is submission to His authority. - Anointing to Possess Your Demand
The climax was a call for every believer to make personal declarations, followed by anointing: “Whatever you demand, you’ll be anointed to possess it. Don’t miss God — this is your moment of destiny.”
Conclusion

Pastor Otabil’s final night message was not just a sermon; it was a faith activation. He moved the congregation from asking God to act to declaring what Christ has already made available. The challenge was clear — to boldly say, “I demand it. I’m going for it,” knowing that Jesus Himself promised, “I will do it.”
