International gospel minister Pastor Nathaniel Bassey has shared a powerful insight that defines his global ministry impact: the presence of God.
Speaking on the Beneath the Surface Podcast, Pastor Nat as affectionately called, declared, “There are two music ministers in the world — the ones with His presence and the ones without His presence.”
According to him, the true difference in ministry is not talent, excellence, or popularity, but divine presence. He emphasized that his life’s pursuit has been singular: “Lord, may I be known for the presence.”
Bassey explained that many musicians focus on visibility and success, but God prioritizes character and spiritual depth. “God is a very responsible God. He’s not about to showcase somebody to the world who would mess up his name,” he said.
The globally recognized worship leader, known for songs birthed in deep spiritual encounters, stressed that ministry must flow from intimacy with God. He added that desire is the starting point: “You would ultimately get what you desire.”
His message challenges a generation chasing fame to instead pursue divine presence as the foundation of lasting impact.
Bassey concluded that everything — influence, demand, and impact — naturally follows God’s presence, not the other way around.
