Nigerian business leader Cosmas Maduka has challenged popular church teachings on destiny, declaring that individuals are responsible for shaping their own future.
Speaking on the Godman Akinlabi Podcast, Maduka said, “Destiny is not just what God forced on you. Destiny is your choice.” His remarks question the widely held belief in external “destiny changers.”
He explained that God has already provided everything needed for success, but humans must make deliberate choices. “I have set life and death before you… you make your choice,” he quoted, emphasizing personal responsibility.
Maduka further stated, “Every one of us is a sum total of the wrong decisions or right decisions we made over time.” According to him, consistent choices—not one-time events—determine life outcomes.
His comments have sparked reflection among believers who rely heavily on prophetic interventions for breakthroughs.
The billionaire urged individuals to move beyond passive spirituality and embrace intentional living, noting that success is a product of disciplined decisions rather than chance.
