Preaching at Christ Temple East, Pastor Mensa Otabil revealed a powerful truth about spiritual growth: sometimes Jesus creates distance to elevate believers.
“He left the people where they are and went up the mountain,” Pastor Otabil explained, describing Jesus’ deliberate movement away from the crowd.
According to him, this action symbolizes a call to higher levels of spiritual understanding and commitment.
“I meet you at a low level… but I want you to move with me to a higher level,” he said, explaining the intention behind Christ’s actions.
Pastor Otabil stressed that not everyone follows Jesus to higher levels, and many remain where miracles happen but transformation does not.
He described the mountain as a place of teaching, growth, and deeper revelation—accessible only to those willing to pursue Christ beyond the crowd.
The message reframed challenges and spiritual dryness as opportunities to grow rather than setbacks.
